The Art of Storytelling

Our stories are power and our voices are too. Our vulnerability, our love and our resiliency. The more we tell our stories, the lighter our bags become. I don't know about anyone else, but I have no interest in dragging luggage around for the next 50+ years.

With the aforementioned being said, we ALL have a story to tell. We’ve all existed on this planet for our entire lives, and that’s a long time. Am I right? In the work that I do, I find most often that we have difficulty piecing together our story based off of how big or “small” we think that they are. Often undermining what our lives have looked like, making comparisons to others or becoming overwhelmed, on some “how do I even DO this” or “where do I start?

I am personally such an advocate for harnessing our stories because it can provide us with a sense of power and confidence. In some circumstances, on a deeper level, telling our stories can nurture a space for shame elimination, fostering overall wellness. Creating our own narratives can also be giant catalysts to helping us get to where we want to GROW, with the people that we want to GROW with. Feel me?

Whether you are an artist, a wellness provider, a content creator, a model, a photographer, a job seeker, an entrepreneur- your story can be one of your strongest marketing tools. Your story is your brand. You are your brand. People are buying into YOU. What do you want your narrative to be?

“I came to Vanessa for support to update my bio that was outdated on my website. I should really say scratch it entirely-I had really hit a roadblock in terms of capturing my experience outside of what has been on my resume.
The comfort even within the process of the questions asked really made me think about me outside of what maybe I thought some of my accomplishments were. Vanessa connected my why so beautifully and with just the right amount of vulnerability that I feel confident and proud of what has led me to the present.
This bio really encompasses things I was finding hard to articulate amidst the imposter syndrome that tries to sneak it’s way in to many of us at times and it takes a special kind of person to be able to put that to pen.
I would highly recommend Vanessa for not only because of her power with words, but the genuine process of being able to connect in the way she does while still making it a smooth process in itself”
